Beer Pretzel Bites
Yield: 5 - 6 Servings | Prep: 4 hours | Cook: 15 Minutes
Ingredients:
3/4 Warm beer
2 1/2 Cups Bread Flour or All Purpose Flour
1 Teaspoon of Table Salt plus some for topping
2 Teaspoons Table Sugar
2 Teaspoons of Instant Dry Yeast
4 Tablespoons Melted Butter plus some for topping
1/2 Cup Baking Soda
7 Cups Water
Instructions:
Start by adding yeast and sugar to the warm beer and stir. Let it sit for a few minutes before adding the butter, flour, and salt.
Knead the dough for about 10 minutes by hand or with a mixer.
Place the dough into a bowl and lightly oil the top. Cover with a cloth or plastic wrap. Place in a warm place and let it sit for 1-2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
Cut the dough into four section. Roll sections of the dough into a log of about 15 inches long. Cut into 1 inch sections and place onto a lined baking sheet. Cover and let sit in a warm place for 20 minutes.
Place water and baking soda into a large pot set to medium heat. Once boiling, add pretzel bites. We suggest doing this 5-8 pretzel bites at a time. Boil pretzel bites for 30 seconds and take out with a slotted spoon. Add bites back to the baking sheet.
Brush on melted butter & salt. Bake 450 for 12 - 14 minutes or until they have reached your desired crispiness.
Enjoy with honey mustard or beer cheese!
